Haverfordwest, the county town of Pembrokeshire, is just 10 mins away from the cottage and has a good array of shops and facilities as well as a superb farmer's market.
St Davids, Britain's smallest city with its famous cathedral is also close by as are Narberth and Pembroke; both within easy reach, whilst the islands of Skomer and Romsey are a must for bird-watching, particularly puffins.

Broad Haven area

Broad Haven is a quiet village in the west of Pembrokeshire ideally situated for exploring the craggy coastline of West Wales. The award-winning beach at Broad Haven is beautiful, safe and sandy, popular with families and watersports enthusiasts alike. The westerly facing beach offers excellent conditions for kite-surfing, kite-buggying, windsurfing and surfing.

The village has just a few shops, a post office and a pub, and a couple of cafes.
When the tide's out there is a pleasant walk around the beach to Little Haven, a lovely, picturesque fishing village with award-winning restaurants. The beach here is particularly popular with swimmers and divers.

The renowned Pembrokeshire coastal path is just 2 minutes from the house. Opened in 1970 the path was the first national trail in Wales and twists and turns its way through 186 miles of breathtaking coastal scenery.
